最近、娘と『家政婦のミタゾノさん』にハマって、Netflixでちょこちょこ観ております。
オチも決まってるといえば決まっているし、そろそろ「飽きた」と思ってもよさそうなものです。でも、ついつい観てしまうのは、なぜなのでしょう。
いつもの（安心）＋ちょっぴりの意外性＋着地（回収）
この流れはテッパンとういか、むしろ古典的な流れで、新規性はありません。
ミタゾノの勧善懲悪っぽい回収は、「現代版・水戸黄門」とも言えそうですが、水戸黄門ではなく「オネエ」というところに、ほんの少しの意外性（時代性）が混ざっています。
古典的だからこその中毒性
これだけメディアや新しい情報が溢れかえっていても、この古典的なシリーズが10年も続き、ファンの支持を集めています。おまけに、普段ドラマを全く観ない、私たち親子までハマってしまった、というのはとても興味深いことです。
何気なく観ていたミタゾノに、飽きのこないシリーズ展開のひとつのヒントを見たような気がいたしました。
P.S. ふと、オネエゴリラも面白いかなと頭をよぎりました。よぎっただけですから、どうなるかはわかりませんけれども。 フフッ。
The Charm of Predictability
Lately, my daughter and I have been hooked on ‘Housekeeper Mitazono’.
You could say the punchlines are predictable, and you’d think we’d be getting bored by now.
So why do we keep watching, right on the edge of that line?
The familiar (comfort) + a touch of surprise + resolution (payoff)
This flow is a surefire formula, or rather, a classic one with no novelty.
Mitazono’s moralistic resolution feels like a “modern-day Mito Kōmon.”
However, the twist that she’s not Mito Kōmon but an “O-nee” (a gay man) adds just a hint of unexpectedness (a touch of contemporary flair).
Addictive Precisely Because It’s Classic
Even with media and new information overflowing everywhere, this classic series has lasted ten years and gathered fan support.
What’s more, it’s fascinating that even us—a parent and child who normally never watch dramas—got hooked.
Watching Mitazono casually, I felt like I glimpsed a hint for creating entertaining, enduring series.
P.S. A thought flashed through my mind: maybe an “O-nee Gorilla” would be fun too. But it was just a fleeting thought, so who knows what will happen.
